Every Lumi book starts as an authored story: the plot, the cast, the scene order, and the art direction are written and designed before your child is ever part of it. The pages are cinematic — composed lighting, real camera framing, detailed sets built for that world. Then your child’s character is designed to belong inside it, matched to the story’s palette, costume, and drawing style, and you approve that design before anything is made.

The photo does one job: designing the character. It is deleted as soon as you approve that character, and the system will not open checkout or make the rest of the book until the deletion is recorded. Every later page is drawn from the approved character sheet, never the photo. Lumi does not use child photos or artwork for model training, marketing, or anything unrelated, and before uploading you confirm separately that you are the parent or guardian.

You approve the child’s illustrated character first, then review personalized story pages. You can go ahead as soon as the first page is ready, and the others finish while you look.

Books usually arrive in 8–13 days across Canada and the United States. We take about a day to finish and check your book, then it is printed, bound, and shipped. As soon as it goes to print we email you the exact delivery dates, and tracking follows when it ships.
